Mix:Bar Trial Set & Body Spray

Vanilla Bourbon
First impression: vanilla note right away, a deeper caramelized vanilla, warm and smokey but not musky, exactly like it’s named after. Don’t smell the alcohol from the dry down. I would definitely buy this. I could see this as a givenchy dupe, it’s not exact but on first impression and from what I remember it smells like, it’s close. Not as complex. Definitely not trying to find a dupe for that one but it just happened that way! Both have jasmine and sandalwood. Good for someone who wants a more complex vanilla scent at a reasonable price.

Whipped Almond
First impression: creamy almond, warm, picked up on the powdery notes from the iris, sweet and floral but not fresh. Would be good for someone who doesn’t want to smell too sweet but likes warm scents. Buttery (not like actual butter) from the sandalwood. Too powdery for my taste.

Coconut Palm

Beachy but not salty, light on the coconut, there is a sense of cashmere but it isn’t overwhelming, warm and fresh, not musky or smokey,

Hibiscus

Very floral, it made my head hurt a bit. It was really strong. It’s probably because I don’t like floral scents.

Cloud Musk

Really fresh, pleasant, like fresh laundry, reminds me of my auntie Sarah’s house, her house is messy but always smells good, definitely a little bit of musk, not like old lady though

This was a great and cheap set! I was able to try out 5 scents for $13. I was worried that none of them would be good because of how cheap they are but I was very wrong!

If I were to rank them in order of most favorite to least, this is it:

  • Vanilla Bourbon
  • Coconut Palm
  • Whipped Almond
  • Cloud Musk
  • Hibiscus

After I tried this set, I bought the Vanilla Bourbon body and hair spray mist. The scent definitely doesn’t last as long as the actual perfumes. I’m not super mad about it though, I only bought a mini size for around $5.99 so you get what you pay for. The perfumes are around $20 so depending on how much fragrance you wear, it can be expensive. I would say that they’re worth it though, especially since good fragrances can be anywhere from $50 – $200.
