Kaleidos Symphony Face Illuminator

This is such a good pressed powder, it is an identical formula to the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish pressed powder at less than half the price. Charlotte Tilbury: $48 for .28 oz vs Kaleidos $16 for .22 oz. It’s smoothing, blurring, and lightweight.

The key ingredient for this is talc. It is a natural mineral that when milled down properly, it is blurring and can help with oil control. Talc has been a controversial makeup ingredient recently. It is thought to be linked to asbestos and cancer, based on the Johnson & Johnson baby powder lawsuit. There isn’t definitive evidence yet to link talc in cosmetics to this concern. Maybe I should be more concerned but for now, this is my favorite powder.

Other powders that contain talc can show up powdery and chalky. I have not found this to be the case with the Kaleidos brand. It is smooth and blends into the skin nicely.

I just repurchased a new one because I am just about finished with my first one. I wish they sold refills because the compact is really nice quality and it’s a shame not to be able to use it again. Kaleidos just came out with peach and pink powders as well so I’d be interested in trying those. They are typically used for brightening and neutralizing.
