Eucerin Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, Oil Control

I can typically tell if I’m going to like an SPF within the first use. On first impression it seemed promising. I applied it on clean, non oily skin and it absorbed well with little to no greasiness.

The second time, I applied it onto clean but oily skin and it did not absorb at all. It felt greasy and later on, it stung my eyes when I was in the shower rinsing my face. I had to quickly get my cleanser and scrub my face and eyes to remove it. It would not stop stinging by just trying to wash with water.

The third time I used it with clean, skincare prepped skin and a light application of foundation and matte primer. It was fine at first but after about an hour of wear, my face was super oily. I had to blot about 3 times during the day and I could just feel everything on my face. Really sticky feeling.

I was going to test this for a month but honestly, I don’t think I even need to do that. I bought this from Walgreens and I was able to return it and get my money back.

I’m disappointed because this is spf 50 and I try to use spf higher than 45. It did play well with my makeup and it has a slight sunscreen scent but nothing crazy.

The day after I used this for the last time, I broke out a lot more than I’m used to. I’m fortunate to not have much acne so when I say break out more than usual, it’s nothing compared to people who deal with acne on a daily basis. I experienced most of the breakouts on my cheeks, forehead, and under my chin. I can’t 100% say for certain that it was this product that caused this but after reading some reviews, many of them mentioned the same complaints I had.

For me, I need an SPF to be higher than 30, (ideally higher than 45), non greasy, matte formula, no white cast (slight tint is fine if the formula is runny), doesn’t break me out, plays well with makeup. Is that too much to ask? Maybe but I don’t care.
